Hundreds to Attend Internship and Career Fair at Urban League

More than 100 youth and adults are expected to attend an internship and career fair on April 11 at the Urban League of Broward County. Many of the attendees are recent high school and college graduates and/or adults who have struggled to find work.

The Internship and Career Fair will have positions available in youth education, public administration, social work, finance, marketing, hospitality, case management and many other fields.

“We are sponsoring this semi-annual Internship and Career Fair to give youth and adults an opportunity to gain access to jobs with a living wage and good benefits,” said Germaine Smith-Baugh, Ed.D., president and CEO of Urban League of Broward County.

Those attending will also be signing up to volunteer for the 2015 National Urban League Conference at the Broward Convention Center in Ft. Lauderdale on July 31-Aug. 1. The conference is expected to draw close to 10,000 people and bring in as much as $10 million to the local economy. Sign up to volunteer here: conference.ulbroward.org

The event is open to the public from 12 pm to 3 pm at the Urban League of Broward County at 560 NW 27th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.
