We are committed to strengthening the family unit by promoting economic self-sufficiency. Through training, career-building and job placement services, we help equip individuals with tools needed to enter or re-enter the workforce. Our Center for Working Families offers a full range of essential economic resources for low-income residents to help them succeed in the workforce, stabilize their finances and build assets.

 

Program Overview 

Critical Occupation Responses through Education (C.O.R.E.) is a program for work ready individuals ages 16 and older with an interest in job-related training. Gain access to free training and certification in a high demand field, career counseling, and job placement. Explore new career opportunities in the field of Information Technology, White Belt and Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management. Attend an orientation today.

Urban Tech Jobs Program (UTJP) is an accelerated technology training program for adults ages 18 and older who are currently unemployed and have a high school diploma or GED.  Gain access to IT certification programs, career counseling, and subsidized work experiences. Program Overview

Workplace Excellence Workshops provide essential tools and services to help individuals prepare and search for employment. Workshops are held in a four-day series which runs consecutively from Monday to Thursday. All workshops are facilitated by career coaches focusing on key developmental categories:

  • Job Search Techniques
  • Financial Literacy
  • Family & Child Support Services
  • Life skills Development
  • Resume & Job Search Techniques
  • Interview Attire
  • Image Consultation
  • Pre-interview Counseling
  • Interview Preparation

Each day, the workshop series will cover new topics and material.  Each month the complete workshop series will be offered in a 4-day consecutive morning session from 10 am -12 pm daily and a 4-day consecutive evening session from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm daily.
