The Urban League of Broward County’s National Achievers Society
receives a generous support from Coke Florida

Fort Lauderdale, FL – February 1, 2024. The Urban League of Broward County (ULBC) is proud to announce that Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, LLC (Coke Florida) is supporting its students by preparing them for this years’ Florida Brain Bowl Competition with a donation of 20 new Chromebooks. Valued at $10,000, these Chromebooks will play a pivotal role in supporting the Urban League’s National Achiever Society (NAS) students as they gear up for the highly anticipated Florida Brain Bowl Competition in March.

The presentation of these Chromebooks will take place at the Urban League’s Open House & Family Fun Day on February 3rd, marking the commencement of Black History Month celebrations. This event not only signifies the kickoff of a series of initiatives honoring the heritage of African Americans and their achievements, but also serves as an opportunity for community members to explore and learn about the 23 different programs and services offered by ULBC to residents.

“We are incredibly grateful to Coke Florida for their generous donation of these Chromebooks which will empower our students to compete at their best in the competition, said, Dr. Germaine Smith-Baugh, president and CEO for the Urban League of Broward County. “ The Open House event provides the perfect platform to spotlight such a significant investment that opens doors to limitless learning and success.”

Coke Florida’s commitment to supporting education and community engagement aligns seamlessly with ULBC’s mission of empowering individuals and fostering community development. “As a community partner, we are providing students with the resources they need to be successful. During Black History Month we are especially proud to support academic programming related to Black History by providing these types of incentives to students who may not have access to these resources on their journey to success ,” said Percy L. Wells, II, Group Vice President of Government Relations, Public Affairs & Community Relations.
