YOUTH AND EDUCATION EMPOWERMENT
The Urban League is dedicated to raising the bar by energizing students and parents with creative and innovative programs. Building academically, behaviorally, socially, physically, and morally strong youth is the goal of the Urban League of Broward County's youth development programs. Youth Development and Juvenile Diversion and Prevention programming are the two primary vehicles used by to serve youth as well as their parents. YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, HEALTH AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS

SAP - is a community based, after school, substance abuse prevention program which employs cultural and performing arts activities to heighten and increase youth awareness to the dangers of using and/or selling drugs, drinking and smoking.
Project A.B.L.E. - Asset Building Leads to Excellence is a community-based teen pregnancy prevention and youth empowerment project designed to increase decision-making skills in pre-teen and young adolescent youth.
National Achievers Society
The National Achievers Society, formerly known as the McKnight Achievers Society and the Thurgood Marshall Achievers Society, is the African American community's national honor society. Induction into the National Achievers Society requires students meet the established academic and social standards. Participation in Society activities by both students and parents is compulsory. Inductions are held annually in May and December.
Activities for Parents and Youth
Instilling the importance of academic and personal excellence, the Campaign for African American Achievement provides free SAT Preparation Workshops, college and career awareness activities, after school tutorials, community service projects, local and statewide academic competitions, leadership development activities, educational and cultural field trips, annual celebratory events which recognize students for their achievements, and parent training/informational meetings.
Leadership Summits
The Campaign and local Campaign Partners analyze and communicate what is known about achievement and youth and devise strategies for launching and implementing the activities of the Campaign at an annual Education Summit.
Advocacy
The Campaign collects data which identifies achievement gaps, and familiarize our community with successful schools and their practices to ensure that all students have access to quality education. The data collected helps to inform the community of possible action steps. Advocacy includes education, one-on-one meetings, high stakes negotiation and draws upon the resources and opportunities that local businesses and other community stakeholders can provide.
JUVENILE PREVENTION, INTERVENTION & DIVERSION PROGRAMS

EMBRACE is a youth diversion program for male and female youth, ages 8 to 18. The project serves youth who are referred by the State Attorney's Office. The project provides opportunities for youth to reconnect to their community through community group conferences with trained community volunteers and staff, weekly life management classes, restorative community service, and social and cultural enrichment activities.
Crime Prevention and Intervention and Black on Black Crime Prevention works with out of school youth, ages 10-18. There are seventeen program components which provide services to youth and their parents in an effort to prevent youth of color from becoming involved with the criminal justice system. While working to reduce crime, the program also informs and educates the public about the extent and consequences of Black-on-Black crime.
