Urban League of Broward County EDUCATION programs are designed to provide supplemental education tools so that all young people have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Program benefits include tutoring and homework assistance, employability skills, healthy lifestyle education, leadership activities. These programs work to ensure that all students excel academically, graduate from high school, avoid at-risk behavior and are prepared to complete a post-secondary degree or certification.

EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Dr.Ezilia Jones, Director of Youth & Education

SAP -
is a community based, after school, substance abuse prevention program which employs cultural and performing arts activities to heighten and increase youth awareness to the dangers of using and/or selling drugs, drinking and smoking. 

Project A.B.L.E. - Asset Building Leads to Excellence is a community-based teen pregnancy prevention and youth empowerment project designed to increase decision-making skills in pre-teen and young adolescent youth.

National Achievers Society
The National Achievers Society, formerly known as the McKnight Achievers Society and the Thurgood Marshall Achievers Society, is the African American community's national honor society.  Induction into the National Achievers Society requires students meet the established academic and social standards.  Participation in Society activities by both students and parents is compulsory.  Inductions are held annually in May and December. 

JUVENILE PREVENTION, INTERVENTION &  DIVERSION PROGRAMS

EMBRACE
is a youth diversion program for male and female youth, ages 8 to 18. The project serves youth who are referred by the State Attorney's Office. The project provides opportunities for youth to reconnect to their community through community group conferences with trained community volunteers and staff, weekly life management classes, restorative community service, and social and cultural enrichment activities.

Crime Prevention and Intervention and Black on Black Crime Prevention
works with out of school youth, ages 10-18.  There are seventeen program components which provide services to youth and their parents in an effort to prevent youth of color from becoming involved with the criminal justice system.   While working to reduce crime, the program also informs and educates the public about the extent and consequences of Black-on-Black crime.
